Holley Day is in memory of one of Kendra’s best friends, Holley, who passed away from metastatic breast cancer and is always held on October 13th, as that was Holley’s birthday.
About Inheritance of Hope
On October 13th, all stores in Kendra Scott’s entire retail channel hosts “Holley Day” where 20% of all sales go back to the organization Inheritance of Hope, this organization creates and funds what’s called a “Legacy Retreat”, where they invite families where one parent is terminally ill (not necessarily breast cancer) to take a family “vacation”, for example, Kendra Scott sponsors a Legacy Retreat to Disney. This retreat, however, is so much more than a family vacation. While yes, it is a piece of it, it actually allows the terminally ill parent to enter into workshops with the other terminally ill parents, where really only they can understand what the other one is going through. An example of something that happens in these workshops is writing letters to their loved ones – What would you want your daughter to hear from you on her wedding day if you weren’t here for her that day. What would you tell your son on his graduation day?
